CHARITY PARTNERSHIP

Dreams Come True / Byronswell Partnership

Dreams Come True is a national charity incorporated in 1988 and which since then has brought joy to almost 5,000 children who are terminally or seriously ill, and which has also created wonderful memories for their families.

Dreams Come True and the other charities benefiting from the recycling of textiles, all realise that they cannot possibly be responsible for fundraising through recycling on their own. These charities also understand that it is reasonable for their recycling partners to make a profit – as long as there is full transparency and auditing of all figures.

For example, Byronswell’s shareholders make a continuing substantial investment in transport across Europe, vehicles for collections across the UK, warehousing, manpower, as well as the funding of other capital costs such as new textile banks and collection bags.

Recycling Code of Best Practice

Here are some of the key points from our jointly prepared Recycling Code of Best Practice:-

  • Monthly data reporting to the charity – kilos and cash donations
  • Full access by the charity of Byronswell’s accounts
  • Regular meetings and reports to review progress and any problems
  • Training and feedback sessions for the Byronswell team
  • ID cards for Byronswell’s drivers and collectors
  • Charity’s logo and registration number on Byronswell’s vans
  • Promotion of the charity’s contact details as well as a Helpline number on ID cards, vans, textile banks and collection bags
  • Comprehensive information on both websites as well as links both ways
